Source Attributions

My Geocode answers are built from the open data sources below and from our own work. This page credits each source in the form its publisher asks for and links to where it is published. Attribution texts are quoted as their publishers wrote them.
Our answers may also include proprietary data that is either licensed by My Geocode or is the intellectual property of My Geocode directly. Such data is not listed here, and neither are sources whose licences do not ask for attribution, such as public domain and CC0 data.
Each source is kept on its own, as its publisher released it, and is never merged with another source into a new database. Our API combines sources only when it answers a request, and each answer holds only the few records that answer it. We do not create, publish or distribute a derived or combined database of any source, including sources published under an open database licence such as the ODbL.
A source listed here does not endorse My Geocode or our service. Data from these sources is provided as is, under each publisher's licence and our terms of service. If you publish data you received from our API, the attribution its source requires applies to you too.

My Geocode is not an Eircode licensee and is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by Eircode. We do not supply the Eircode Address Database or any part of it. Any Eircode that appears in our results comes from public sources, such as the open datasets listed above that publish an Eircode with their own records, and is shown as those sources publish it. We claim no rights in Eircodes.

Our answers may include data from the rights holders below, intentionally or unintentionally: for example where an open dataset we use was itself built with their data, or where a postcode or address happens to match theirs. These notices are given for strict compliance only. A notice here does not mean that we use, license or redistribute that data.
If you hold rights in data that you believe is included in our answers without a licence, write to support@mygeocode.com with the data or source concerned and a few examples. We will examine it and remove that data, or the whole source, wherever it should not be there.

These conditions apply to every answer from our API, in addition to our terms of service and to the licence of each source:
- Do not use our answers to harass, stalk, threaten or intimidate anyone, to publish where a person lives without their consent, or to locate a person who does not want to be found.
- Do not use our answers to track, profile or monitor individuals in breach of applicable law.
- Postcodes and addresses in our answers are not certified or validated by any postal operator. Do not use them where a postal operator requires its own licensed or certified data, such as for postage discounts, presorting or address certification.
- Do not use our answers to build, extend or verify mailing lists, or for unsolicited mail or direct marketing, where the rights holder of the underlying data does not allow it or the law forbids it.
- Australian addresses come from G-NAF, whose licence sets this restriction, which applies to you when you use Australian addresses from our answers:
You must not use the Licensed Material for the generation of an address or a compilation of addresses for the sending of mail unless You have verified that each address to be used for the sending of mail is capable of receiving mail by reference to a secondary source of information other than the Licensed Material.
- Do not resell or redistribute postcode or address lists taken from our answers as a dataset of their own.
- Trade marks named on this page belong to their owners and are used only to identify the data.
- Where data protection law applies to addresses, you are responsible for your own use of our answers.
