What we shipped this month: geocoding, IP, time zone and more

Two ways to pay: cards and cryptocurrency
There are two ways to pay My Geocode, and both work for prepaid credit and for Unlimited packages: a card, or cryptocurrency. The price is the same whichever you pick. Credit bought either way never expires, and a request costs €0.0001 after the account's free 2,500 for the day, whether that credit came from a card or from a coin.
Cards, through Polar
Card payments go through Polar. Choosing "Pay by card" on an invoice opens Polar's checkout for the exact amount due, you pay there, and the invoice switches to paid as soon as Polar confirms the order. Visa, Mastercard and the other common credit and debit cards work.
Polar acts as the merchant of record for these payments. In practice that means Polar calculates and collects any sales tax or VAT that applies where you are, and handles the paperwork for it, so the receipt you get is correct for your country without you having to tell us anything about your tax position.
Cryptocurrency, on our own page
Crypto payments go through NOWPayments, but you never leave the dashboard to make one. Choosing "Pay with crypto" shows the coins you can use for that invoice: Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, USDC, Litecoin and many others. Coins whose minimum payment is above the invoice total are left out, so everything on the list will actually work.
Pick a coin and the next page shows three things: the deposit address, the exact amount to send, and a QR code of both for your wallet to scan. The rate is fixed for the deposit window, so the amount shown is the amount that settles the invoice. Once the transfer has enough confirmations on its network, the invoice is marked paid and the receipt arrives by email. You can close the page in the meantime; coming back to the invoice takes you straight back to the same payment.
A few details that make this pleasant to use:
- Reloading the page, or picking the same coin again, shows the same address instead of starting a new payment.
- Coins that need a memo or destination tag show it clearly, because a transfer without it cannot be matched.
- The coin logos and the QR code are served from our own site, so paying does not load anything from a third party.
Why only two
Every payment method is another checkout to keep working, another set of notifications to verify, and another way for a payment to arrive without being matched to an invoice. Two methods that both confirm automatically cover nearly everyone: a card for people who want the fastest path, crypto for people who prefer it or cannot use a card. Neither needs anyone at our end to match a transfer by hand, which is what keeps credit and packages active within minutes of paying.
Nothing about what you buy changes with the method. The same credit, the same Unlimited package, the same endpoints and the same pricing apply either way. If you have questions about a payment, write to us and include the invoice number.
